The Company
BART DELORENZO
is the founding artistic director of the Evidence Room in Los Angeles where he has directed many plays since 1995. His recent work with the company includes Marivaux's THE FALSE SERVANT, Sarah Ruhl's PASSION PLAY, Sharr White's ANNAPURNA, Chekhov’s IVANOV, Len Jenkin’s MARGO VEIL and Adam Bock’s THE RECEPTIONIST, all co-productions with the Odyssey. Recent freelance work includes the premieres of TOKYO FISH STORY, FAST COMPANY, DOCTOR CERBERUS, and SHIPWRECKED: AN ENTERTAINMENT at South Coast Repertory; STAGE KISS and the premieres of DEATH OF THE AUTHOR, CONEY ISLAND CHRISTMAS, and JOAN RIVERS: A WORK IN PROGRESS at the Geffen Playhouse; ANNAPURNA with The New Group (Off-Broadway); KISS and GO BACK TO WHERE YOU ARE, DAY DRINKERS and A NUMBER at the Odyssey Theatre; NEED TO KNOW at Rogue Machine Theatre; CYMBELINE at A Noise Within; THE PROJECTIONIST at the Kirk Douglas Theatre; VOICE LESSONS at the Zephyr; and THE NIGHT WATCHER at Washington’s Studio Theatre. He has participated in the development of new works at South Coast Repertory, the Mark Taper Forum’s New Work Festival, Calarts, A.S.K. Theater Projects, the Ojai Playwrights Conference, and Perry-Mansfield, among others and has directed several live radio plays/recordings for LA Theater Works. For his work, he has received LA Drama Critics Circle Awards including the Milton Katselas Award for career achievement, LA Weekly awards, Backstage Garlands, and TCG’s Alan Schneider Director Award. He is on the faculty at CalArts.
