JOHN ZALEWSKI
is a veteran designer at Evidence Room, a Playwrightâs Arena artistic associate and a TCG/NEA Designer Fellowship recipient. He has worked extensively with Actorâs Gang, Bottomâs Dream, the Taper, 24th Street Theatre and others in L.A. on SLIDE, GLIDE THE SLIPPERY SLOPE; MAYHEM; MAPA MIA!; CRINGE; PENTECOST; DELIRIUM PALACE; SAVED; THE BERLIN CIRCLE; CHOKECHERRY; ONE FLEA SPARE; SALOME¢; SLEEPWALK; SNAEUX!; JEWTOPIA; MASTER CLASS (Fountain Theatre); KATE CRACKERNUTS (24th Street Theatre) and more. NYC work includes SPEED-HEDDA with Fabulous Monsters at LaMama, PANDORAâS LAST XMAS at chashama and JULIANA FRANCISâ SAINT LATRICE at PS122. Awards: an Ovation Award (and six nominations), four L.A. WEEKLY Awards (and five nominations) and nine BACKSTAGE WEST Garlands. He painted much of the set of Ken Rohtâs HE POUNCES at Evidence Room. More recently he designed the sound for SELF DEFENSE at Actorsâ Gang, WAR MUSIC at the Geffen, Naomi Iizukaâs AT THE VANISHING POINT at the Humana Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, and SEX PARASITE at TaperToo at the Ivy Substation.
